Abstract

This study investigates Students’ Perception on the use of English Song in learning English. The aim of this study is to find empirical evidence of the students’ perception on the use of English song in learning English. This study used Quantitative and Qualitative Approaches with Descriptive case study. Quantitative data is used to support the descriptive elaboration of the factual data finding through the questionnaire. The instrument of this research is questionnaire with closed- ended question. The Subject of this study was junior secondary school students in East Jakarta. There are 100 samples which determined using Slovin formula. After that, the writer distributed the questionnaire according to the location distribution of the subjects in their sub-district area in East Jakarta using multi- stratified random sampling technique. The finding(s) of this research showed students believe on the use of English song for their English learning, because song provide a relaxed environment in the classroom so learners does not easily feel threatened while learning English. Moreover, students also believe in English song can make students notice to English lesson because song make students feel interest in learning target language. Furthermore, students believe in positive opinion about the use of English song as their English learning. The writer sum that students’ perception have positive respond on the use of English Song in learning English.
