Abstract

Nutritional problems, especially stunting, are still a national priority issue because of the impact on the quality of future generations. South Jakarta City is a megapolitan city where access to health services, easy access to food availability and income levels are in the middle class group of people by 40% with better social welfare categories. The percentage of poor people in South Jakarta City in 2021 is 3.56%, but in fact there are still many stunting toddler cases in South Jakarta. Based on the results of Grebek Stunting, South Jakarta in 2022, there were 649 stunted toddlers. This study aims to analyze the determinant factors that are related and the most dominant with the incidence of stunting in children aged 0-59 months in South Jakarta. The method of this study is Analytic observational study with a Cross Sectional Study design. The sample used is a saturated sample, with a total sample of 1,185 stunted and non-stunted toddlers using secondary data from the Grebek Stunting South Jakarta activity in 2022 with the chi square test analysis and multiple logistic regression tests. The result show variable long history of under five births, economic status, level of adequacy of energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates, mother's knowledge about proper food processing methods and Handwashing with Soap behavior has a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting (P-value ≤0.05). The variable that is most dominant in the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 0-59 months in South Jakarta is the Toddler's Birth Length History with OR = 2.211, meaning that toddlers who have a long birth history are 2.2 times less likely to experience stunting. The condition of body length at birth influences the risk of stunting in toddlers, this is also related to the condition of the mother during pregnancy. The better the health condition and nutritional status when pregnant women will reduce the risk of stunting in toddlers.
