Abstract
This study aims to determine and obtain a comprehensive picture of how the activities of Jugun
Ianfu in West Java, forms of violence against Jugun Ianfu, legal protection and accountability
of Japan, and the social-psychological impact of victims of Jugun Ianfu in West Java. The
research methodology used is the historical research method which consists of four steps,
namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that the
recruitment process of Jugun Ianfu was carried out in areas in West Java such as Cimahi,
Sukabumi, Bogor and Sumedang through kidnapping and promised to be employed. Based on
the exposure of the victims of Jugun Ianfu, they often accept sexual violence that was both
perpetrated by the Japanese Army and its Officers. So, it can be concluded that the Japanese
Army has committed rape, trafficking in persons for sexual purposes, social exploitation, sexual
torture and also sexual slavery of adolescent women in West Java and has a traumatic impact
on those who experience it both physically, the impact on society and also the psychological
victim Jugun Ianfu.
