Learning a dual language at the same time during early childhood has caused the wrong perception. Its false perception makes the parents delay the start of learning a second /foreign language. Therefore, this study aims at analyzing the first and second language acquisition of a child in the Indonesian Language and English. The issues concentrated on the spoken utterances in Indonesian and English and its affecting factors. The research adopted a qualitative approach by using a case study, as the unit analysis is a child of 3 years old. For data collection, I employed the naturalistic approach, which I kept daily notes on the progress of a child’s linguistic and recorded the dialogues. Since it is a longitudinal study, the research was conducted for two years, from 2014 to 2015. The research has revealed that utterances spoken have primarily increased and the child has already understood the commands by following the instructions. Some concepts such as feeling, taste, color, and numbers as well as short phrases and simple words in Indonesian and English at the same time can be understood and uttered. She also can change the affirmative sentence to question in term of objects she sees in her surroundings. Factors such as linguistic input, imitation, environment, exposure, and language acquisition device can all affect the child’s utterance. Thus, it indicates that two languages can be taught at the same time at an early age, and it doesn’t cause misunderstanding or confusion.

Abstract
This study examined English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers’ perceptions toward how feasible it is to develop learner autonomy in secondary school context in Jakarta. 106 EFL teachers teaching in senior high schools in Jakarta took part and responded questionnaires concerning feasibility for developing learner autonomy in EFL context. The first part of the questionnaire explored the teachers’ perceptions on the feasibility of involving learners in a range of language course decisions associated with learner autonomy. In this regard, teachers perceived that it is most feasible for students to get involved in decision making related to tasks and activities, topics, materials, and classroom management. The least feasible areas of choice are those related to teaching methodology and objectives. The second part of the questionnaire revealed how feasible it was, according to the teachers, for their students to develop a range of abilities associated with the capacity of learner autonomy. The discussion of the findings suggests that teachers’ professional development program needs to take into account the teachers’ understandings of the learner autonomy and the pedagogical aspects concerning how to promote this capacity on students.

This small-scale study aimed to factors that contribute to foreign language speaking anxiety among international tertiary students in Indonesia. The study drew on a qualitative method where seven International students studying at three universities in Indonesia were interviewed. The collected data then were transcribed and analyzed using a thematic analysis. The result revealed that the student participants experienced both facilitative and debilitative speaking anxiety when interacting with their peers during classroom learning. Language barriers, negative attitudes, intercultural communication apprehension were identified to provoke FLSA among the students. More importantly, these three factors also contributed to students’ feeling of speaking anxiety in their daily communication.
A body of literature has shown that teaching anxiety is one among other critical issues encountered by pre-service teachers when performing classroom teaching during a teaching practicum program. The current study attempted to examine the contributing factors to this anxiety among pre-service teachers performed the teaching of English as a foreign language (EFL) during their practicum in primary and secondary schools in Indonesia. To this end, 202 pre-service EFL teachers were asked to complete Teaching Anxiety Scale (TCHAS) questionnaire. Statistical analyses were performed to the collected quantitative data. Findings of the study revealed that there was statistical difference between male and female on the anxiety factorof ‘beingunabletoanswerstudents’question’(F=6.724,p<.05)butnot on other factors of ‘incompetent in classroom’ (F = 3.568, p>.05), ‘dislike teaching’ (F = .001, p>.05), ‘career uncertainty’ (F = 1.238, p>.05), and ‘the negative attitude of the students’ (F = 3.713, p>.05). Findings of the study also showed that teaching anxiety was experienced by pre-service EFL teachers teaching at primary school, lower secondary school and upper secondary school during the teaching practicum with similar level of anxiety.
One of the emerging issues of the use of text-messaging over the WhatsApp application, among teachers and students is concerned with students‘ impoliteness. A body of literature has extensively argued that students are less polite language users when sending texts to their teachers, and the current study sought to examine the politeness strategies used by the two groups. Specifically, itaimed to examine whether or not there is a significant difference between English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers and students in the use of politeness strategies in sending text messages to each other. To this end, the study addresses secondary EFL teacher-student WhatsAppp communication and presents an analysis of politeness strategies from a total of 200 WhatsApp texts. The analysis of the politeness strategies was based upon on Brown and Levinson‘s (1987) politeness framework.Findings of the study revealed that students employed more politeness strategies than their teachers. With the emphasis on age and social status, Indonesian EFL learners perceived teachers to be of a higher social class where students were required to highly respect them.
This short article reports on teachers’ use and perception of digi- tal assessment recourses in primary school classroom. A total of eighteen pri- mary school teachers participated in the study where they were asked to experi- ence of using Kahoot and ZipGrade as digital assessment resources. Self- reflection survey was distributed to the teacher participants to capture their atti- tude and perception about the two applications. Findings revealed that teachers were positive towards the application of two assessment technology in class- room practice. The findings highlighted some factors that encouraged teachers to use Kahoot! and ZipGrade as digital assessment tools including the creation of fun learning environment, practicality, automated scoring and direct feed- back. Despite these benefits, two critical challenges were addressed by teachers when incorporating the digital application at school such as the school context as well as teachers.
In this paper, we present a digital application developed to pre- vent teachers’ absenteeism in a private university in Indonesia. In particular, we evaluated the development and the application of an Android-based attendance management system (AAMS) to monitor teachers’ attendance and their teaching activity at a private university in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia. Adopting a design-based research approach, we observed the development procedure and interviewed three end-users of the application, i.e. teachers. The findings of the study revealed the potential use of AAMS as a digital tool to prevent absentee- ism among university teachers. The three main challenges were highlighted during the application of AAMS, including the processing time duration and system error, the reporting and analytics issues, and the input manipulation. Furthermore, a recommendation is offered on the basis of the findings.
Physical activity is very important for early childhood, especially outdoor activities that add a lot of new experiences. This study aims to check the relationship of children's outdoor activities and parenting styles and children's social skills. The participants are 125 parents of early childhood who attend kindergarten. The research method is a descriptive study using the relational screening model. The results showed that there was a relationship between outside play and parenting
style on the social skills of children in their childhood. Democratic parenting styles are found to
promote children's social skills, while authoritative parenting styles have a negative correlation with
interpersonal skills, the ability to express verbally, self-control, listening skills, emotional management and adaptation to change. In the sub-dimensions of anger management and adaptation to changing skills is a significant difference between authoritative parenting styles and not permissive parenting with children's social skills.
