Holothuria atra merupakan salah satu spesies teripang yang mengandung senyawa bioaktif dengan potensi hipolipidemik, namun bukti in vivo pada kondisi obesitas masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efek pemberian ekstrak Holothuria atra terhadap kadar trigliserida serta menganalisis hubungan berat badan dengan kadar trigliserida pada tikus obesitas yang diinduksi high fat diet (HFD). Penelitian eksperimental in vivo ini menggunakan 10 ekor tikus jantan Sprague Dawley berusia 8–10 minggu yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok Pakan HFD dan kelompok Pakan HFD+Ekstrak Holothuria atra dengan dosis 300 mg/kgBB selama 6 minggu. Kadar trigliserida serum diukur menggunakan LipidPro Meter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata kadar trigliserida kelompok Pakan HFD+Ekstrak Holothuria atra secara signifikan lebih rendah dibandingkan kelompok Pakan HFD (100,20 ± 22,69 mg/dL vs 143,20 ± 17,38 mg/dL; p=0,010). Tidak ditemukan hubungan yang bermakna antara berat badan dan kadar trigliserida (r=0,231; p=0,520).
