DVT terdiri atas fase akut dan kronik dengan karakteristik berbeda pada pemeriksaan duplex ultrasound. Namun, perbedaannya masih jarang dipaparkan secara deskriptif. Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan gambaran hasil pemeriksaan duplex ultrasound pada pasien DVT ekstremitas bawah akut dan kronik. Metode: Studi laporan kasus dengan pendekatan deskriptif terhadap dua pasien DVT ekstremitas bawah di RSJPD Harapan Kita, terdiri atas satu kasus DVT akut dan DVT kronik. Hasil: Dari 2 kasus tersebut, diperoleh gambaran bahwa DVT akut menunjukkan trombus hipoekoik dengan color filling defect dan flat waveform pada trombus total, sedangkan trombus parsial masih menunjukkan sisa aliran. DVT kronik menunjukkan trombus hiperekoik, trombus total, sisa trombus vena poplitea, serta rekanalisasi minimal dengan sedikit pengisian warna dan sinyal aliran vena. Kesimpulan: Pemeriksaan duplex ultrasound efektif membedakan karakteristik kasus DVT akut dan DVT kronik pada ekstremitas bawah.
