Berdasarkan The Tobacco Atlas tahun 2016, Indonesia berada pada urutan pertama jumlah perokok di ASEAN, sedangkan di dunia menduduki peringkat ketiga setelah China dan India. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui hubungan lingkungan sosial terhadap perilaku merokok mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Fakultas Agama Islam Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA pada bulan Februari – Maret 2025. Hasil penelitian dari variabel lingkungan keluarga Nilai p (p = 0,182) > 0,05, pertemanan Nilai (p sebesar 0,123) maupun sosial media (Nilai p sebesar 0,533). Dari variabel lingkungan keluarga, pertemanan maupun sosial media didapatkan hasil bahwa tidak adanya hubungan yang sinifikan dengan perilaku merokok mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR.
