"comprehend written English were the focus of this investigation. This \r\nstudy was to identify the types of metacognitive strategies employed \r\nand to understand how these strategies support the university \r\nstudents’ reading comprehension. Three primary types of reading \r\nstrategies—global, problem-solving, and support—were the subject \r\nof the study. In this study, a quantitative descriptive approach was \r\nused. Collecting data from the Survey of Reading Strategies (SORS) \r\nquestionnaire, descriptive statistics were used to uncover reading \r\nstrategy patterns among college students. The majority of university \r\nstudents use a mix of the three types of strategies when solving \r\nproblems, according to the findings. The university students often \r\nrelied on rereading, focusing, and translating as the ways of \r\novercoming the reading difficulties. However, global reading \r\nstrategies such as planning and previewing were less frequent. These \r\nresults suggested that university students are more likely to use the \r\nimmediate and practical strategies rather than reflective or planning\r\nbased strategies. The study highlighted the need for greater emphasis \r\non balanced strategy training in EFL reading instruction."^^ . "2026-02-06" . . "3" . "2" . .
