In this study, the experimental pre-test post-test control group design method was applied. Two groups made up the research sample: the experimental group, which learned through contextual approaches, and the control group, which learned conventionally. Tests of conceptual understanding were used to gatherdata both before and after treatment. The data analysis results demonstrated that, in comparison to students who received conventional instruction, students who studied utilizing contextual learning approaches significantly increased their comprehension of the notion of changes in form. These results suggest that students' conceptual knowledge of science can be greatly enhanced when real-world situations are used in science instruction. In summary, at the grade 5 science level, the contextual learning approach is successful in improving comprehension of the idea of form modifications. This study suggests that, in order to help students grasp scientific concepts more fully, it is critical to incorporate real-world situations into science lessons. ”Keywords:Contextual Learning Method, Changes in Form, Science, Grade 5, Understanding Concepts.
