ES harusnya menjadi tugas semua masyarakat untuk melestarikan SDA, melindungi ekosistem lingkungan hidup dan mencari solusi pencegahan kerusakan alam. Masalah-masalah lingkungan yang kita hadapi sekarang sangat dimungkinkan disebabkan oleh ketidaktahuan dan kurangnya pendidikan. Dalam hal ini sangat dibutuhkan peran guru selaku pendidik untuk berpengetahuan dan berperilaku berlingkungan hidup sehingga dapat menjadi contoh bagi peserta didik agar bersama-bersama dapat mengatasi kerusakan lingkungan. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah persepsi dan sikap calon guru sebelum mereka terjun menjadi guru terhadap environmental sustainability. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis data berupa uji independent t-test dan penyebaran angket sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Responden merupakan 120 mahasiswa calon guru. Kemudian berdasarkan survey angket diketahui ada 4 program studi yang mempelajari materi lingkungan hidup sedangkan 8 program studi lainnya tidak. Berdasarkan hasil anaslisis survey diketahui bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok program studi yang mempelajari lingkungan hidup maupun tidak, baik dalam aspek persepsi dan sikap.
