Komponen orally dissolving film (ODF) yang mempengaruhi pelepasan zat aktif dari sediaan yaitu superdisintegrant salah satunya adalah sodium Starch glycolate (SSG). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan variasi konsentrasi terhadap sifat fisik dan disolusi film. dengan konsentrasi 1%, 1,5%, 2% diformulasikan dalam film yang dibuat dengan Solvent Casting Methode. Evaluasi yang dilakukan meliputi organoleptis, uji pH, ketebalan film, ketahanan lipat, moisture uptake, keseragaman kandungan, waktu hancur, dan uji disolusi. Film yang dihasilkan berwarna kuning, sedikit kering, homogen, transparan, kadar zat aktif salbutamol dalam film 95,9%-99,2%, ketebalan film 0,03-0,04 mm, pH film 6,9-7,18, kelembapan film 14%-23%, daya tahan lipat 110-765 kali, waktu hancur film 26–72 detik. Data waktu hancur termasuk normal dan homogen sehingga dilakukan uji ANOVA satu arah, hasil didapat nilai sig. 0,00>0,05 yang berarti ada perbedaan bermakna waktu hancur pada film dengan variasi konsentrasi SSG. Uji lanjut Tukey memperlihatkan signifikansi perbedaan antar tiap formula. Pada pengujian statistik terhadap data disolusi hasil yang didapat dari uji normalitas dan homogenitas tidak homogen hasil didapat nilai sig. 0,00<0,05 dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Friedmen sebagai uji alternatif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan SSG mempercepat waktu hancur dan disolusi film salbutamol. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi SSG maka waktu hancur semakin tinggi.
