Modifikasi pati dapat digunakan dengan dua cara yaitu menggunakan enzim atau asam sehingga menghasilkan pati dengan kelarutan yang lebih baik yang dikenal dengan maltodextrin. Polietilen glikol 400 adalah eksipien yang dapat digunakan sebagai Plasticizer dalam sediaan Oral Dissolving Film (ODF). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan formula optimal dari sediaan ODF Cetirizine HCl berbasis Maltodextrin sebagai film forming dan polietilen glikol 400 sebagai Plasticizer dengan aplikasi Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan Response Surface Methodology (RSM) dengan pola Central Composite Design (CCD) yang menghasilkan 14 formula dengan rentang nilai terhadap konsentrasi film forming dan Plasticizer. ODF akan dilakukan pengujian terhadap disintegration time, elongasi dan tensile strenght. Hasil penelitian diperoleh formula optimal pada konsentrasi yang telah disarankan oleh RSM yaitu Maltodextrin sebesar 4,34% dan polietilen glikol 400 10% dengan respon disintegration time 99,20 sec, tensile strengh 1,26 Mpa dan elongasi 110,7% serta terdapat nilai desirability sebesar 0,67. Dan juga terdapat hasil observasi terhadap respon disintegration time 99,7 sec dengan persentase error sebesar 0,5% , tensile strenght 1,28 Mpa dengan persentase error sebesar 1,59% dan elongasi 101,67% dengan persentase error sebesar 0,03% . Kesimpulannya adalah semakin tinggi konsentrasi polimer maka meningkatkan nilai tensile strenght dan menurunkan nilai elongasi dan disintegration time sedangkan semakin tinggi konsentrasi plasticizer maka meningkatkan nilai elongasi serta menurunkan tensile strength serta disintegration time Kata Kunci: Oral Dissolving Film, Maltodextrin-Sorgum, Cetirizine HCl, Response Surface Methodology. date: 2021 date_type: completed full_text_status: public institution: Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR.
