Kelarutan pati dapat ditingkatkan dengan melakukan modifikasi pati menggunakan enzim atau asam menjadi maltodextrin dengan sifat kelarutan yang lebih baik. Cetirizin HCl digunakan sebagai obat anti alergi dengan dosis dewasa rendah sebesar 10mg/hari dengan sediaan yang banyak tersedia berupa tablet dan kapsul, sediaan ini sulit dikonsumsi pada pasien pediatrik, geriatrik maupun pasien dengan kesulitan menelan sehingga diperlukan sediaan alternatif yaitu ODF agar pasien tersebut dapat mengkonsumsi obat ini dengan mudah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan formula optimal dari sediaan ODF cetirizine HCl berbasis Maltodextrin-Sorgum sebagai film forming dan trietil sitrat sebagai plasticizer dengan aplikasi RSM. Modifikasi pati dilakukan menggunakan metode enzimatis dengan enzim alfa-amilase kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi maltodextrin-sorgum dengan hasil uji dextrose ekuvalen sebesar 6, swelling power sebesar 2,87, solubility sebesar 52,9% dan yield value sebesar 86,71%. Sediaan ODF dibuat menjadi 14 formula dengan rentang nilai terhadap konsesntrasi polimer sebesar 2,59 - 6% dan plasticizer sebesar 3 – 10% yang telah ditentukan oleh Response Surface Methodology (RSM) dengan pola Central Composite Design (CCD). Hasil penelitian diperoleh formula optimal pada konsentrasi yang telah disarankan oleh RSM yaitu Maltodextrin-Sorgum sebesar 4,56% dan trietil sitrat 10% dengan respon disintegration time 75,67 sec, elongasi 108,85%, dan tensile strengh 1,39 Mpa sehingga film yang dihasilkan memenuhi syarat oral dissolving film yang baik Kata Kunci: Oral Dissolving Film, Maltodextrin-Sorgum, Trietil Sitrat, Response Surface Methodology (RSM), Cetirizine HCl date: 2021 date_type: completed full_text_status: public institution: Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR.
