Komplikasi kronis diabetes misalnya berupa neuropati (kerusakan syaraf) di kaki yang meningkatkan kejadian ulkus kaki, infeksi dan bahkan keharusan untuk amputasi kaki. Terapi antibiotik diperlukan untuk hampir semua luka kaki diabetes yang terinfeksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran penggunaan terapi antibiotik empiris dan definitif serta efektivitasnya berdasarkan nilai leukosit. Data diperoleh dengan metode retrospektif dari rekam medik pasien yang termasuk dalam syarat inklusi selama tahun 2018. Toolkit yang digunakan adalah IDSA tahun 2012 dan Antibiogram RSPAD tahun 2017. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 59 pasien. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 95,38% kasus dari terapi empiris dan 100% kasus dari terapi definitif menggunakan antibiotik yang sesuai dengan literatur. 63,08% kasus dari terapi empiris dan 96,67% kasus dari terapi definitif yang sesuai mengalami penurunan leukosit dan perbaikan kondisi pasien.
