To identify the types of strategies, retrospections and reading comprehension tests were adopted and analyzed. The results revealed that most students with a low level of English proficiency remained more dependent on the bottom-up strategies than top-down strategies. However, using the bottom-up strategies had facilitated the students comprehend the economics texts.
