Dalam penelitian ini, kami menguji hipotesis bahwa persepsi orang terhadap kelas sosialnya mempengaruhi penilaian atas keadilan prosedural di mana orang yang berada pada tingkat kelas sosial atas lebih peka penilaian keadilan proseduralnya berkenaan dengan prosedur pengambilan keputusan baik adil maupun tidak adil; dan orang yang berada pada tingkat kelas sosial bawah lebih peka penilaian keadilan proseduralnya saat orang lain mendapat prosedur pengambilan keputusan yang tidak adil. Kami melakukan dua studi dengan memanipulasi kelas sosial subjektif relatif partisipan dan meminta mereka membayangkan berada dalam kondisi adil atau tidak adil baik untuk diri sendiri (studi 1) maupun orang lain (studi 2). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa manipulasi kelas sosial subjektif tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap penilaian keadilan prosedural. Dibandingkan dengan partisipan yang berada dalam kondisi kelas sosial bawah, partisipan yang berada dalam kondisi kelas sosial atas tidak menunjukkan kepekaan yang lebih besar dalam penilaian keadilan prosedural baik saat berada pada prosedur voice maupun no-voice (Studi 1).
