Dalam pengembangan alat solar still ini sangat diperlukan teknik perhitungan yang akurat. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian di dalam ruangan menggunakan lampu halogen sebagai sumber panas radiasi. Data pada penelitian ini dilakukan perhitungan konstanta perpindahan panas C dan n untuk mendapatkan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas konveksi dan massa teoritis. Pada penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Tiwari hasil dari perhitungan untuk menentukan konstanta perpindahan panas C dan n ini menggunakan perhitungan regresi linier dan eksperimen, model Holman dan Dunkle untuk menentukan C dan n ditentukan dari hasil eksperimen, sedangkan pada model Power dilakukan dengan korelasi empiris dengan menggunakan kurva Nusselt-Rayleigh. Maka penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan model perhitungan Tiwari, Dunkle, Holman dan Power sehingga dapat ditentukan hasil massa teoritis yang paling mendekati dengan hasil pengamatan. Hasil dari perhitungan model Tiwari, Dunkle, Holman, dan Power adalah: Model Tiwari C = 9,7352 dan n = 0,18133. Model Dunkle dengan nilai C = 0,075 dan n =1/3. J.P Holman dengan nilai C = 0,54 dan n =1/4. Model Power dengan C = 0,0008 dan n = 0,5699.
